I`m interested to know if anyone has ever heard of
a wermacht general named Reymann, I think, but
am not sure that he was in france during the normandy
invasion. Does anyone know if he was from Gau-Bickelheim?

Re: General Reymann?
Fri, April 28, 2006 - 1:46 AMIn early 1944, Lt. Gen. Hellmuth Reymann commanded the 13th Luftwaffe-Feld-Division in northern Russia and therefore wasn't in Normandy.

Reymann is better known for his role in the Battle of Berlin.

Thanks for the links, I finally got to see a bio on heinrici.
but I found little on reymann there. do you know of any
bios on him? mainly I would like to find out where he
was from. I know a reymann family here that were once
prominent brewers and I know they were from Gau-Bickelheim,
I`m just wondering if they might be related.

Re: General Reymann?
Fri, April 28, 2006 - 6:49 PMSo far as I can discover, no one has written much about Reymann . . . He did leave behind a diary, a manuscript ("Ich sollte Berlin verteidigen") and some other papers.

Some personal letters of his were sold recently.

There is a forum for people interested in these questions . . . mostly Germans, but maybe someone will have mercy on you if you post a question in English:
